Suspicious...

The internet has been weirdly quiet lately. Servers are apparently crapping out across the board. PVP, Twitter, Hyatt, me, ComicSpace... this probably has something to do with it. Still though- teh Intardwebs are eerily quiet lately. I've even gotten less junk mail lately...

Graffiti

I really liked doing the graffiti for today's strip. I think that more places should have public graffiti walls, rather than mosaic tiled artwork that isn't nearly as cool or colorful as tag art. I'm also curious as to whether or not graffiti exists under copyright. I mean- it's vandalism, so- illegal, but there's also a general blanket copyright on images that exists once the work is finished and signed.
Miles says I was thinking too much about this...

La!

My graffiti is getting better, I think. ;)
And no, Rae's not green. He's through a window. Hence the backwards letters.

Woo Forum!

To go along with my own webspace, I now also have my own forum setup, independent of CG. (Although I still poke around on the ComicGenesis forums, don't worry.) I wanted a space though that I could administrate myself, and create smilies for. Yes, I know. It's a silly thing- but I really like being able to make them myself. Because uh- I'm a dork.
Anyway, you can access it by clicking the forum link up in the dice bar, or it's at http://geekblather.com/forum

Reverse update!

No, wait- that does make sense. See, I went back and put most of the old 'news' posts into this blog space, so that now you can read the archives of all that silly junk I wrote. I'm almost done putting them in. And since they're all backdated- it's like reverse update.

Also- are people checking out TeenBit cause you should. The other comics on there are awesome. I like them.

Have you seen yet?

Since I have all this cool space on this new server, I made something really cool for y'all to play with, with major thanks to Corey Messer of Plush and Blood, for wrangling the Flash for me. What was created and wrangled you ask? Why, a super awesome set of virtual paper dolls featuring Gwydia and Agate, that's what! You can find them under the "extras" section of the site. Hopefully I'll have more to come in the future too- we just haven't introduced all the characters I want to make them for yet.

Success!

So, I basically win at the internet. Did you know that? Cause I do. Like whoa.
See- my old server has been having lots of sadness issues. Which makes me sad. Ah know. Because then I can't poke at the site, or read messages from y'all or anything. And I've been working on making such cool new things too! (More on that later) I couldn't even get into the old server. So sad.

This lead to the decision that it was time for Geek Blather to try standing on its own two... uhm, pixels? Codes? Domains? Something like that. Own- space anyway. So I found myself some cheap hosting, and since it's a Sunday, and I didn't really have anything better to do- I did all the coding for the new site today. Including this groovy little space right here. Which is powered by Blogger, and I can have an archive, and it's much much much easier to update than the old newsbox. In that I can update it without actually editing the text of the page. This is a huge bonus in and of itself, because every time I open up the html file for the index page, I run the risk of tarding something and mucking up the whole site. And that would make me sad.

Another bonus, is that this box is scrollerable- so it also doesn't fubar the layout of the site (yaay!) and even better- is y'all can leave comments! (doubleyaay!)

Shall I go on? I have approximately a gojillion GB of space on here. So I can store things in an emergency should (god forbid) a computer byte the dust (hee.) I can manage what pages show up on the archive, and which don't- so you can read directly though the strips without tarded updates obscuring things. I learned how to make a dropdown menu! All by my own self! And an iframe (which this is) and- Geekblather.com is so much cooler than having a subdomain. Oh! I can have subdomains though- so I could make a baby site underneath this one! Like, http://flailing.geekblather.com or something... (just throwing it out there...)

Uh- in case you couldn't tell by the rambling... I'm excited. This is a cool thing for me. I can even backdate entries, so I can put in all my old commentary on strips!

Basically, I am made of code and win today.

I win at the Internet!
